Why Website Edits Should Wait for Publish

Saving photos or carousel settings updates a draft, not the live site. Here is who can edit, who publishes, and how to request publication.

On the Website page in the contractor portal, an owner or admin can change the hero photo, choose which photos a service shows, and adjust how fast the carousel turns. Saving those changes updates a draft—not the live site.

This describes the current Website page for members of businesses whose sites OAS already runs.

What saving actually does

Saving photo selections or carousel timing updates the site's draft. Visitors continue to see the last published version.

That separation lets you arrange photos and adjust the carousel without making each intermediate edit public. Saving means the changes are kept in the draft. They reach visitors when OAS publishes it.

Who can draft, and who can't

An owner or admin on the business account can make these changes. Staff can view the photos and carousel setting, but cannot change them from this page.

The business's logo is not editable from this page.

Who publishes

Only OAS publishes a draft to the live site. The contractor portal does not currently provide a Publish button.

Publication is a separate action. Saving a draft does not publish it automatically or schedule it to go live.

Getting a draft published

When your saved changes are ready to go live, contact OAS and say which changes are ready for publication.

Saving does not notify OAS or place the changes in a draft inbox. There is also no separate approval workflow in the portal between saving and publishing. Do not assume that a saved draft has been seen or scheduled for publication.

Your changes remain in the draft until OAS publishes them.
